I logged on to Neopets for a bit of a thrill.. I tend to go a bit backwards when I am tired and discovered a very special new item. I am posting it just for Jo...
Behold... Mossy Rock!
This week has been pretty intense and I have to say that I am well and truely buggered. I was going to go to training tonight but just couldn't find the energy to do it. I went and retrieved our rubbish bin, mailed out all the stuff I've been holding for the land lady for ages, paid some bills and got on the phone to my parents to see what time I needed to get there on Sunday. I just feel so drained. I need some dinner and a good sleep I think. Working again tomorrow... then Sunday up to my parents place.. I've gotta keep paced or I will fully burn out.
Something random.. my car ticked over its first 100ks driving through the complex this morning!
How tired am I! Today was the very first day of prac which was ok... it is going to be a long six weeks I suspect.. Anyways, let us get on to the important stuff!
On Saturday, 2 September 2006, I drove away from a Mitsubishi car dealership with my brand new Mitsubishi Colt! In honour of this momentus occasion I have dedicated the month of September to the Colt, as can be seen by the avatar on the top right hand side. That is a steering wheel view of my new car. When I do get them, I will post some proper new pics of the car in the photos section, a long with a few other bits and bobs that have been waiting a while to have something done with them.
Today, Steve Irwin died. It seems this has caused a mighty stir in the nation today as the man who has completely mis-portrayed Australias for quite some time seems to have touched the hearts of many individuals. I am not one of those people. I feel almost cruel and perhaps cynical to say this but I don't have any sympathy. It was only a matter of time before "if this XYZ animal were to turn around and bite me, I'm in BIG trouble" turned out badly. Perhaps the man saw himself as the real life Crocodile Dundee? I guess unfortunately, unlike the movies, people die and are not miraculously saved from death by the gifted paramedics who turn up in record time! I feel for his wife and children who have now been left without a father, husband and provider. There comes a time where most people realise that they are not invicible and start to take responsibility for their actions and make an effort to protect their lives for the sake of their loved ones and children. Failure to do so comes at a price. They say that his is only the 3rd death from a sting ray in history... an animal that only attacks when threatened. I guess he aggravated this animal just a little too much...
